Emotional Success – Using the “Focusing” Method

All-Star Dental Academy Founder and CEO Alex Nottingham JD MBA is joined by Guided Focusing Coach Sandy Jahmi Burg.

Alex speaks with Sandy about the mental/emotional techniques of Guided Focusing and how the practice can lead to a more effective and fulfilling life. Focusing is an experience, a way of using our body/brain that invites trust, resilience, empowerment, and abilities to adjust to our situation/environment.

About Sandy Jahmi Burg:

Sandy Jahmi Burg is a Certified Focusing Trainer and Coordinator-in-Training for The International Focusing Institute (https://focusing.org/). As a Focusing Trainer, she coaches one-on-one and facilitates groups in learning these inner relationship skills. As a Coordinator-in-Training, she offers a certification program via TIFI for those wanting to guide or teach Focusing skills themselves. Sandy has a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, has been a Volunteer Coordinator for a 3300 acre nature park, trained in Permaculture offering Sustainable Landscape Design services and founded a non-profit for wellness called Circle Toward Wholeness. Mother to three young adults, she currently lives with her husband in an intentional community in a small music/art tourist town in the Appalachian Mountains called Floyd, Virginia. Sandy is the author of Smartview Stories, an emotional literacy series of books that model ways families and communities can support each other in feeling safe, practicing these relational skills and finding ways forward in these times of change. The stories use concepts of Focusing and neuroscience to bring to life typical dynamics of our inner world.
