I’m Robyn Reis, director of All-Stars Hiring Service. And on today’s Let’s Talk Hiring, your tip is going to be about how to become the employer of choice and not chance. Now this came about out of a conversation with a recent client that he had an employee situation and he says, this isn’t the culture that I want. This is not what I want to happen. And I said, well, here’s your opportunity, doctor, to create the culture that you do want.

because you do have control over that. You have control over your vision, your values. What do you stand for? What do you want team members to believe in? So here are some three tips that you can do to become an employer of choice and not chance. And one is be super clear about your vision, what you want to develop and create and where you’re going. One of the most favorite sayings I know is,

If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will do. So choose the path that you want to follow and have your team follow. Number two would be be super clear about your expectations. We’ve talked about this on a previous episode on the importance of job descriptions. So be sure you’re clear about your expectations. And then number three is build that connection, that relationship with your team members. Doctors make time. You won’t find it. So make.

time in your schedule to sit down 10, 15 minutes one-on-one to stay connected to your team and understand what are their dreams? Where do they want to professionally grow? Where do they want to personally grow? How can the practice help support their growth? And so those three tips will definitely help lead you in the right direction, become an employer of choice in that chance.
