This is Dental Allstars, where we bring you the best in dentistry on marketing, management and trading. Here’s your host, Alex Nottingham.

00:00:11:16 – 00:00:19:10

We’re talking about the five steps to an all star practice. And in this episode, we will tackle the first step, and that’s your vision.

00:00:19:10 – 00:00:32:13

in a business context, a vision outlines your aspiration and your goals. It’s a way of expressing your purpose and the impact that you have or would like to have in the world.

00:00:32:13 – 00:00:45:08

have an idea of what their vision should be. They say, Of course, we want to be the pinnacle of patient service. That’s good. We want to make a difference in patients lives. We want a good work life balance

00:00:45:08 – 00:00:47:18

we work hard, we make a good living and we help people.

00:00:47:18 – 00:00:55:12

and the really importance here is intention. Whether it’s a vision, a mission, purpose, it doesn’t matter. It’s all about what is your intention?

00:00:55:12 – 00:00:59:08

So you’re like, okay, I got it. I need a vision. Now what?

00:00:59:08 – 00:01:14:08

You’ve got to write it down. Tell everyone Live your vision. And every decision you make must equal your vision. So team members do they match up with your vision or not?

00:01:14:10 – 00:01:21:27

What about the patient experience? Does it meet your vision? Doesn’t meet your expectations. If not, we have to change it.

00:01:21:27 – 00:01:33:20

And what about opportunities to make your team better? Same thing. Does it match your vision? And if it does, you’re going to make that choice. So it makes it very easy for you because vision guides you.

00:01:33:20 – 00:01:55:15

Not what I think in the moment. What do I stand for? And there shouldn’t be hesitation. If there’s hesitation, you’re not clear on your vision or you’re letting your ego supersede your vision, essentially. And there will be barriers to your vision. Life always gives us challenges and either whatever you do either supports your vision or it weakens your vision.

00:01:55:15 – 00:02:00:28

What are you willing to give to achieve and maintain your vision?

00:02:00:28 – 00:02:03:13

you have to think about it. Are you compromising?

00:02:03:16 – 00:02:15:16

Are you avoiding difficult conversations or decisions? There’s no easy way out. You got to do what it takes to define and maintain your vision.

00:02:15:16 – 00:02:30:19

Clarity is key. It doesn’t matter what you do or what you spend or what team you have. If you’re not clear on what you want, then what you create will not be clear and your results will thereby be inconsistent.

00:02:30:19 – 00:02:41:23

Here’s some action steps to think about and to do first. Write down your vision. Don’t worry. Vision. Mission. Purpose. Write something down that you can live by and you can support.

00:02:41:23 – 00:02:57:28

Express what you stand for and ask your team to contribute to your vision. Have them share, have them add what they believe. And hopefully if you’ve done this right and you had it somewhere within your vision and the team vision are the same.

00:02:57:28 – 00:03:14:08

Speak and think. You will find that the more you think or speak about your vision, the more you will attract situation and circumstances that correspond and kind. So what you think about and what you speak about, you create.

00:03:14:08 – 00:03:16:08

one way to

00:03:16:08 – 00:03:18:26
