Practice Coach
All-Star Dental Academy

I grew up in a small town in eastern Kentucky, graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1985, and graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1989—that’s also where I met my husband, Scott, with whom I have practiced general dentistry with for 35 years.

Not long after graduation, Scott and I bought a small dental practice just outside of Nashville in Hendersonville, Tennessee. We grew the modest three-operatory office into an eight-operatory, $4 million practice focused on bread-and-butter dentistry. We built an amazing team of five hygienists, four assistants, and four front office staff—some of whom have been with us for over 30 years. I’ve always believed that a strong, loyal team is the heart of any successful practice.

For the past 10 years, I’ve worked closely with coaches Paula Harris and Shelly Van Epps, who helped us stay focused, solve day-to-day challenges, and build systems that really worked. Their guidance played a huge role in helping me sharpen my skills on the business side of dentistry—especially in maintaining low overhead and ensuring the financial health of the practice.

I am a founding member of a study club for female dentists in our community, which has been one of the most meaningful parts of my career. That experience made me realize how much I enjoy helping other dentists grow and succeed. Coaching feels like a natural next step for me as I exit the clinical side of dentistry. I’m really excited to support other doctors in building practices that are not only profitable, but also aligned with their goals and values.

Outside of dentistry, I have one son, Jake. He’s 26 years old and a pilot for NetJets. In my spare time I love traveling, hiking, spending time at our beach condo in Florida, and hanging out on the lake with our family and friends.
