All-Star Dental Academy Lead Mastery Coach Eric Vickery is joined by Dr. Mike Kobliska.
Eric and Dr. Mike look at how Dr. Mike moved away from insurance with a peek at revenue and collections over the transition period.
Discussion Questions:
What was your time like during the years of heavy PPO participation?
What did you say to patients about your move away from insurance?
What was their response after you made the change?
How does your Admin team handle insurance questions on New Patient phone calls?
Were there any time constraints or anything else that delayed the move?
And now that you have done it, what advice do you have for anyone who seems hamstrung by the world of PPOs?
About Dr. Mike Kobliska:
Dr. Mike graduated from USC dental school in 2007 and has been practicing dentistry for 14 years. He worked as an associate for seven years and then purchased his practice in 2014 in Los Osos, a little town on the California central coast.
A majority of his practice is traditional crown and bridge and restorative with an emphasis on cosmetic dentistry. He does a little bit of everything including endo, ortho, oral surgery, and treating TMJ-related issues.
When he bought his practice it was in-network with many insurances. Over the past four years he cancelled contracts with each insurance company until he remained only in-network with Delta PPO. He recently terminated that contract as well and will now only be in-network with Delta Premier.
Dr. Mike has been married for 11 years to his wonderful wife Nina and they have 3 kids aged 9, 7, and 5.
